Wine that joy and prosperity may reign forever, salt that life may always have flavor, and bread that this house may never know hunger. My parents bought a cottage in the Pocanos this summer in the community we've been going to since before I was born. For their housewarming gift we gave them Louis M. Martini Rose Cabernet Sauvingon (only sold at the winery in CA! which I got on my trip there), a loaf of bread, and this Himalayan Salt Block. We found it at Carter and Cavero an olive oil shop in Long Branch, NJ. So the salt block was obviously the cool part. Directly off the website >>  Heat your Himalayan salt slab, plate, or brick to high temperatures and sear thinly sliced meats, fish, vegetables, seafood and other quick-cooking foods. Or, chill it for use in serving sushi, appetizers, cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, and even cold desserts.  And its cool barely any of the salt comes off so if you put something like guacamole or shrimp on it its not pure sodium.
