Cantaloupe and Cherry Popsicles
Monday was very hot and we are resisting turning on the AC until June (fight the man) ! I decided to make make popsicles and as I had already had my Zoku Quick Pop Maker prepping in the freezer for a few days all we needed was to pick a recipe. We chose to make these Cantaloupe and Cherry Popsicles ! Mine aren't orange, because I also blended in a few cherries giving them this lovely dark blush color. They were pretty good, but I would use more cantaloupe and fresh lime and less Greek Yogurt or the orange juice option the next time I make them. They were a little too pasty tasting and I wanted them to be a bit more like traditional fruit pops. These pops are so healthy I can eat them for breakfast, which obviously I will.
I also had some trouble with the Zoku, as you can see it is oozing blue goo, that is the interior gel that makes it cool so I'll have to send it back and get a new one, because I think the product itself is pretty cool ! The idea is that you freeze the unit for 24 hours and then its so cold your able to make 9 ice pops (in batches of 3) in 7 minutes. Definitely going to be utilizing this tool all summer, more recipes to come !
