BBQ in Nashville
We tried to get into Whiskey Kitchen on Saturday but it was too crowded and we were too hungry to wait, they don't take reservations and we weren't aware of how poppin of a place it was. SO we went on Sunday, much better, ate outside and ordered some drinks. I had the Shrimp and Grits, not the best picture but DELICIOUS, very salty
This is at Edley's BBQ, a family friend recommended it. David had the pork platter (mac n cheese, cornbread, and baked beans) and I had the Pork Tacos (coleslaw and mac n cheese), we were too late for brisket (no brisket after 3pm). YUM! The BBQ sauce was awesome so we bought some to take home. The mac was lukewarm and ehh in taste, slaw was yummy more of the vinegar kind and beans ok. nom nom nom
This was at Hog Heaven, which was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I had the pulled brisket David had the pulled pork, we both got the mild sauce, both got the mac n cheese and pancake shaped cornbread, I got the slaw he got the beans. The brisket was ok, it could have been cooked a bit longer, the pork was much more tender. Mac n cheese tasted like velveeta so of course I loved it, the beans had this tang and were just awesome ! The pickles were decent, cornbread was dry, and slaw was delicious. We also bought bbq sauce from here but it was much thinner than Edleys and we haven't used the kickin chicken white sauce yet.
